Virtualaircraftpictures – Uploading - How it works

1. General knowledge

Virtualaircraftpictures currently is divided in two different parts: Virtual PLANE! SPOTTERS and Virtualaircraftpictures. Both are the same database. That means, if you want to search a picture from Virtualaircraftpictures, also the content of Virtual PLANE! SPOTTERS is shown in the result list. But if you want to search a forum post in Virtual PLANE! SPOTTERS only the content of this part is shown. You see, we have two different databases which are all accessible from Virtualaircraftpictures.

2. Registering on Virtual PLANE! SPOTTERS

Before you can upload shots into Virtualaircraftpictures you need a free account on Virtual PLANE! SPOTTERS. Click here to create one: http://www.virtualaircraftpictures.com/area/ucp.php?mode=register. When the account has successfully created you are able to write forum posts in all parts of Virtual PLANE! SPOTTERS. In a forum post you can include the picture you wish to upload and - it is in the database of Virtualaircraftpictures. Very easy and no rejections! But do only upload shots into AVIATION PHOTOS. Otherwise they will not correctly appear in our database. In General, uploading works as follows:

1. Open AVIATION PHOTOS (http://www.virtualaircraftpictures.com/area/viewforum.php?f=20) and for example CIVIL AIRCRAFT (http://www.virtualaircraftpictures.com/area/viewforum.php?f=4), in this create a new topic (only aircraft type named topics are allowed!: e.g. "Airbus A380" and not "Airbus A380 in London Heathrow"!) or reply to an existing one (e.g. Boeing 747-200 http://www.virtualaircraftpictures.com/area/viewtopic.php?f=4&t=82).

2. Write a few comments to the aircraft type, airline and location in your post and go to the "Upload attachment" section of the posting page. Click on "Browse..." button and select the file you wish to upload on your hard drive. Optionally you can write a file comment. After this click on "Add the file". Depending on file size and Internet connection the upload can be finished in a few seconds or up to minutes.

3. When upload is completed, scroll down and click on "Submit". This step completes the upload procedure and the forum post with the picture is now publicly viewable.

Below you can see the whole process in pictures:

1. "Post new topic" if aircraft is not in the list. Open an existing topic and reply if you have the same type as already listened.
